HP Pavilion DV3

Hp pavilion DV3 laptop gets a lot of things right in its design and delivers just the right amount of style and also supplies the right ports to get your multimedia mobilized. Hp pavilion dv3 were looking at today is not quite as cheap; it still offers excellent value for our money.

HP Pavilion DV3

HP impresses us with the connectivity. It has a power input, which has a handy LED to indicate it’s active, as well as two USB ports. An 8x DVD Re-writer with Light Scribe support dominates the rest of the space.
It has a 34mm Express Card slot, a 5-in-1 memory card reader, a combined eSATA/USB port, an HDMI out, the Gigabit Ethernet port and a VGA out. On the main body of the machine, meanwhile, is a fingerprint reader – something not often seen at this price point – while a webcam with dual-microphones is subtly integrated above the screen.

Like so many laptops of late the dv3 range has moved to a 16:9 aspect display. Its 1,366 x 768 resolution does mean less vertical space than older machines, but the wider aspect is better for film viewing and also makes it easier to view documents side-by-side – a less advertised but arguably more useful benefit! Like many this is also an LED backlit display, so it’s very bright, though the reflective finish won’t help matters in bright sunlight. In normal light the image quality is good without ever being outstanding. Colors are nice and vibrant, black levels decent, and viewing angles reasonable. Small text could be sharper, but overall this is a good effort.

Hp Pavilion DV3

Likes/dislikes

Its color is very dark brown-hp calls it espresso. Fingerprint issues apply here because of the glossy varnish. HP laptops are their artsy imprint designs and the dv3 doesn’t disappoint. Overall, the dv3 is a classy and attractive machine. Keys are large and easy to use and HP has made good use of the space available, squeezing in Page Up and down keys to the right of the Return key .The touchpad works very well its mirror like finish is very smooth and the buttons are smooth and responsive.
Where battery life is concerned things are a little different, dv3 has been beating the Samsung in all the tests. In the Productivity segment it managed an impressive four hours and 10 minutes, 40 minutes more than the Q320. This trend is continued in the Reader and DVD tests, with results of four hours 43 minutes and just under three hours. You can also get five hours of normal usage and perhaps three and a half of video playbacks – more than enough for even a long film.

This 13.3in machine delivers on many levels. It’s packed full of useful features, particularly that capacious 500GB hard drive, while the design is attractive -

ASUS UL30A Laptop

The Asus UL30A is an interesting machine. Ausus UL 30A even redefined the concept of thin and light notebooks by the time when it launced the Eee pc line of net books in 2007.Its not the most powerful laptop you can find for $700 to $800.Ausus is not actually revolutionary but it is a quite remarkable laptop.

Asus UL 30Ahas a full size island style keyboard. It’s with plenty of internal storage and a new voltage processor. You get a faster Dual-Core notebook with a DVD drive for the same price, but if you want lots of endurance and a thin design, the UL 30A is a winner. It’s actually easy to compare Ausus UL30A to the Mac Book Air because of the dimensions and aesthetics.

Asus UL30A

Likes/Dislikes:

I really like that you wont actually find a deck filled with multimedia controls or launch keys there are only two small buttons one on the left for launching express gate or switching between power profiles and the last but not the least a power button on the right.

KEY BOARD AND TRACK PAD:

Coming down to the key board and track pad touch typist would find the slightly undersized shift key an issue, but the placement is really great. We really appreciate that the pages up/down; end and home keys have their own column with the right arrow and delete keys. We think over and over again if the arrow buttons were smaller there could be more space for the shift key. The touchpad even has a multi touch gesture. We prefer two distinct buttons for right and left clicks, We found the single mouse button long enough but a bit stiff.

AUDIO AND DISPLAY:

Well the bright display offers deep blacks and rich colors. But we think the pixel screen is really glossy. When we were watching a movie we could see my own reflection in the darker scenes. This in an issue because it’s not pronounced in the low light, but there is an advantage too that the downloaded clip was sharp and was stutter-free which mostly isn’t found in other laptop’s we use.

WEBCAM:

The webcam with 0.3megapixel does not impress me it doesn’t deliver a good video for e.g. When we were chatting with a friend on Skype we have noticed a lot of washed out colors and a lot of sharpness too, well the audio came out clearly and even the video did not stutter.

BATTERY:

The ausus ul30a eight celled battery did not reach the advertised 12hours time. We got to know after the battery test of continuous web surfing it still impressed us because it gave 9hours and 55minutes it one of the most longest lasting note books that we have ever herd of or tested.

Asus UL30A

Technical features:

Resolution: 1366 x 768
Hard Disk: 500 GB Serial ATA, 5400 RPM
Webcam:0.3 meg apixel
Dual core: 1.3 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 processor
Display: 13.3 in.
RAM: 4 GB
Dimensions: 12.9 x 9.28 x 0.98 inches (WxDxH)

Samsung n510 Laptop Review

Among all laptops the lon powered 11.6 inches Samsung N510 has grabbed my attention for the longest period of time. Well for some addition Samsung N510 was pretty much impressive and most magazines & websites gave it a five out of six star rating. We think it’s due to the keyboard and overall design and build, and the mat finished LCD display, which makes it reflection free.

Features:

The N510 is one of the first few notebooks to features the Nvidia Ion LE graphics / chipset, along with the HP Mini 311, giving it powerful graphics performance and 1080p HD playback.

Samsung N510

Technical Specification:

Along with the Ion LE, it also features
Weight : 1.41kg [3.1 pounds]
Dimensions : 289 x 200 x 31mm (WDH)
CPU : Intel Atom N280
RAM : 1GB
Display : 11.6-inch
Resolution : 1366 x 768
Graphics chipset : Nvidia ION LE
Hard disk : SATA 160GB HDD
Wireless : 802.11b/g/n

N510 has much more powerful graphics than most notebooks. It provides good battery life. 6 hours 30 minutes of light every day use, and dropping to 3 hours 45 minutes during more intensive use, such as gaming and HD playback.

The system was tested using a number of HD trailers and clips (both 720p and 1080p) and playback was smooth, with CPU usage hovering around the 25 to 30 per cent region.
The most forgotten fact is you need a software player capable of GPU accelerated video playback.Samsung does provides a piece of software in the form of Cyberlink Power DVD 8, but I recommend using the freeware Media PlayerClassic Home Cinema, whose file format support is a little wider. It’s not quite as user friendly, but it’s more powerful and lightweight.

Nvidia’s Ion chipset, the N510 is much like other notebooks. There’s 1GB of RAM in support of the Intel Atom N280 processor, which goes along at the usual 1.66GHz.It’s a combination that works so so for web browsing and other non-demanding productivity tasks, but rich media (high-res image editing, video editing etc) is really slow. There are also other hardware highlights the presence of Wireless-N Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and an HDMI output. This makes the N510 to take advantage of HD content, either goin over a network or connected to a tv or monitor.
A 160GB hard drive provides enough space for moderate photo collections, videos and music but is likely to be supplemented by external storage.

Samsung N510

LIKES/DISLIKES:

We really like the glossy black lid it makes way for a smooth, matt black finish inside and Samsung has even taken it away with glossy displays, so reflections and over distractions are greatly reduced and that’s mostly the problem that the majority faces so Samsung has made it easy.

Previous Samsung notebooks, like the original NC10 and its replacement the N110, both featured somewhat cramped efforts, But the one on the N510 is perfectly situated and best in size. It’s just like using a normal notebook!

The audio performance isn’t quite accomplished. Samsung’s best efforts to impress, adding ‘SRS 3D Sound Effect’, the two 1.5W speakers housed beneath the front edge of the machine are tinny and ineffective for anything but online video clips. Its ok, we don’t expect much more.
Battery life is always the most important factor where notebooks are concerned and one in which Samsung generally excels. This is still true of the N510, although to a slightly lesser extent. Samsung quotes a very realistic ‘up to seven hours’ and this goes pretty well.

DELL ADAMO Laptop Review

Adamo. Dell’s new lavish label. It’s quite different from other member of Dell’s family of Laptops. It can be called world’s slimmest notebook and the most elegant Dell I’ve ever. It is a beautiful piece of equipment and something I’d like to get my hands on. If you’re look for slim and ultra light weight easy to carry notebook then it’s the best choice but comes with an expensive price. Dell Adamo, taken from Latin means “to fall in love with,” thinks it can be a feasible option to Apple’s Mac Book Air.

Dell Adamo

Features:

Fully connected with WiFi, Bluetooth and optional incorporated mobile broadband also full harmonize for connectivity ports with no compromise. Cool, quiet and robust solid state drives. Available in different colors Onyx and Pearl and offering large variety of complementary accessories.

Technical Details:

Draft-Wireless N
High-performance solid state drives standard
Bluetooth 2.1
Mobile Broadband* option
Up to 5+ hours of battery life (preface) ***
2 USB ports, 1 USB/eSATA combo port, Display Port, RJ-45 port
Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium Edition SP1, 64-bit

Dell Adamo

LIKE/DISLIKE:

Ports and the headphone socket are located at the rear, you will forever be reaching uncomfortably to connect any USB devices, MP3players/iPod or network cable
If we compare ADAMO machines with other slim models of note book available, we can’t find a solid reason to satisfy our mind if we choose to purchase Dell Adamo notebook. Only reason comes to mind first is Adamo beautifying looks and slim design which is not likely the customer’s choice who frequently purchase laptops for their personal or professional use.
This bundle of beauty need improvement in technical details in order to capture eye of the purchaser who normally looking for beauty, comfort and state of the art technology in one place. Now the price seems fine if we just look at Adamo’s looks, but when we can get much more technically strong notebook in same or less price we strongly disagree to chose Dadamo Dell and justify the $1999 price nevertheless.

ASUS-LAMBORGHINI VX5 is a wonderful combination between clean outline and silken trappings. Available in piano black or pearlescent white colors, while holding it or roaming around holding ASUS-LAMBORGHINI VX5 is a statement of elegance and power.
What makes the Asus Lamborghini VX5 really situate above all notebooks is the 1TB solid state disk that it has inside. Most of the other notebooks in competition don’t come anywhere near that because SSDs are still so damned expensive. Above all it has a Core 2 Quad, 4GB of RAM and a 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 130M graphics card; and something we haven’t seen for almost two decades, a turbo function that boost up the CPU and GPU performance with a little on demand overclocking. The optical drive is as you would expect a Blue-ray and sound comes through a pair of Altec Lansing speakers.

Like/Dislikes:

Asus Lamborghini VX5 is up to the mark as the world famous Lamborghini Cars. We like exterior as well as interior. The Asus Lamborghini VX5 with 1TB of hard drive space makes it prominent prior to other notebooks. VX5 is not short fall by any means of influential, integrating the top of the line Intel Core2 Duo and introduced for the first time ASUS is offering a mobile quad-core processor as well. VX5 also have an option for a TV tuner and the latest discrete GPU. Asus Lamborghini VX5 is all the one need to capture the world of technology and information.

All we conclude for this Asus Lamborghini VX5 is an excellent machine in all dimensions for a professional need or a multimedia freak who love to play games and music/movies. But all this styling and hi-fi technology isn’t coming on normal grind of notebook price. Asus Lamborghini VX5 is available from $1,999 -$2.999 this is the part where it getting a bit disliked by the customers around the globe.

Hewlett Packard always comes up with innovative ideas as their slogan “INVENT”. Today in our spot light is their new addition in Laptops line the HP EliteBook 6930p.

HP EliteBook 6930p is introduced as corporate solution for the business professionals depending upon their requirements of smart design and state of the art technology. HP EliteBook 6930p weights only about 4.7 lb/2.1 kg. HP Elitebook6930p design with brushed metal, it looks is a combination of power and elegance. Brushed anodized aluminum cover combined with a magnesium alloy chassis makes an eye catching impact.
HP EliteBook 6930p includes a 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor with its base model, 250 GB hard drive and 2 GB memory. Shiny displays are growing in popularity and can be found on modern laptops. HP EiteBook 6930p has a tremendous keyboard, with no bend, silent keys and adequate travel, one of the most comfortable keyboards available in HP laptops. HP EliteBook keys are as comfortable to use as its predecessor. Many have criticized HP’s placement of the arrow keys and etc, but we do not find this to be a severe issue at all.

HP EliteBook 6930p has a longer battery time as compare to other models of HP or other brands of similar configuration. It gives up to 8-8:30 hours of computing if battery charged 100%.

LIKES/DISLIKES:

Overall, HP Elite6930p is a great tool to get your hands on. We like its design durability and it’s not wrong to say that HP EliteBook 6390p is the strongest notebook available. It is a powerful notebook running on Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor, with Mobile Intel® GM45 Express Chipset which runs your professional applications faster. HP EliteBook 6930p notebook is light in weight and easy to carry around. The only thing which we don’t like is its display brightness, which is dull and not so prominent if use it on batteries, which seems to be a not big problem with minor tweak with the display settings.
