Dell Studio 17 is a bit bigger and squarer in shape, can be count in usual design notebooks but it’s available in kool color combination making it exotic. Dell Studio 17 is finished with sandy outer finish that can also be considered as scratch resistance. Dell Studio 17 build is strong, both upper and base are intact perfectly, no lid opening or closing squeaking sound noticed while we tested it for hours.
Dell Studio 17 equipped with 1.6 GHz Intel Core i7 720QM processor with 6MB L3 cache and 4GB of DDR3 RAM. Just like all the high end notebooks Dell Studio17 execute all your professional applications and multimedia programs much faster than any normal desktop PC. We test run few of the data base application on network environment and we are amazed to see it running fast and smooth. Dell Studio 17 has 17.3″ Multi-Touch HD LED display which give you viewing pleasure while you watching movies on DVD or working for your project presentations or playing your favorite game. Screen is visibility is good not much reflection in dark room but has issue of reflections while we test it in open area daylight and bright lights room. With ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 1GB graphic card Dell studio 17 will not let down user who wants a performance to win on any gaming environment. No matter what game you want to play Dell studio17 will carry the graphics as good as you want. While testing on few loaded games Dell studio17 runs smooth and we didn’t find it slow.
Dell studio17 comes has 320 GB hard drive with 5400RPM large in capacity and faster while you saving your valuable data or running difference programs at once. Dell studio 17 Keyboard is full in size very soft and comfortable to get your hands on. Spacing between keys and depth to press them are nicely place by Dell. Even for hours of text typing we never experience stress in fingers.
Dell Studio 17 Battery life is not as long as we expected. With different multimedia application or playing games, in both test it gives a backup of 4 hours 20 minutes that can be more if we just working on less application or just surfing on internet.

Conclusion:

We find Dell Studio is one of the better notebook available with state of the art technology in Price less than $1400. We like the computing power of Dell Studio with Intel Core i7 processors and ATI Mobility Radeon graphics is fine and no slow performance detected. Design and build is good but can be more elegant. We suggest if users plan to buy a high end laptop with a great processor and good graphics then do consider Dell Studio 17 notebook. with a little upgrade with hard drive and memory it can beat any of the high end notebooks which cost around $1700 or more. We give Dell Studio17 a 8.1 out of 10 rating.
